Two Special Dinners, Continued Fish Fry Saga, and the Weekly Menu

2 weeks down, 4 weeks to go with our Lenten Parish Fish Fry's.  They have been incredibly successful and  I am very tired.  Saturday's are my re-coup days.  We had final clean up this morning and now it is time for Aleve and relaxation.

Menu

So while I relax, I am going to visit with you and share my upcoming week and the foods we will be enjoying.

Yesterday, our daughter Jessica and the Angel Face joined our eldest, Amy and her husband Doug, for dinner at the fish fry.  I was able to find 15 minutes to gulp down dinner with them.  One of my fryers didn't show last night so most of the dinner service was spent frying fish.

The guy who bakes our fish commented during the night that I was unusually quiet.  Jessica, the other fryer said it was because it was hard for me to be tethered to one spot and unable to be running around solving all the problems of the fish fry and the world.  Hahahaha.....I guess I am very transparent.

We are singing at Mass this afternoon and then will be going out for dinner.  Tomorrow our daughter Nicole, her husband Pierre, are joining us for dinner.  Our son, Anthony and Frank's sister Roz may join us as well.

On Tuesday we are celebrating my brother, Dick's, birthday with a traditional St. Pat's dinner as we do each year.  We are celebrating early this year as he is going in for rotator cuff surgery later this week.

Wednesday is going to be crazy this week because I need to get all my Thursday prep completed since I am not available on Thursday.  We also have choir in the evening so we will be having leftovers for dinner.

Thursday I am going to put dinner in the crock pot prior to leaving and Friday we will eat at the Fish Fry.

  1. The menu with your brother and family for your St P's day is a beautiful meal and sounds so delicious. I love your menu for the week. Ron and I both like a Fish Fry , they are hard to find in this area. We had them as kids but not as many today. We live in VA, 15 miles outside of DC. I grew up in MD, just outside of DC, so who knows . I will have to check the VFW or American Legion. Our church does not do a fish fry. Enjoy your family this week and especially the Fish Fry !

    1. Thanks Cathy. Fish fry is very popular around here still. During the worst of COVID we didn't have them and then the following year we had them but only as carry out. My son lives in VA, Portsmouth area. I am going to see him the end of this month.
