The Weekly Menu including Thanksgiving Dinner

Well....many of us might have to dig deep to find things for which to be grateful for at Thanksgiving in this 2020 world.

It is hard not to get the doldrums and I have been having my fair share of the blues.  So today and each day up to Thanksgiving Day I am going to think of 5 things for which I am grateful this year.

  1. Frank and the Angel Face survived a horrendous 100' drop out of the sky.
  2. A dear friend had surgery to remove cancer and it appears to have been very successful.
  3. My children and their families are all safe and healthy.
  4. Joe Biden won the Presidential election by both popular and electoral votes.
  5. We are financially secure with a roof over our heads and food on our table.

This Thanksgiving will look very different than previous celebrations.  I am very grateful that I will be able to spend time with some of my children and our grand-daughter on that day but I will miss having all of them here along with extended family and friends.

We will have 3 family units and each will sit at their own table to have dinner.  We will wear our masks when not eating but we will be together.

The Food Pantry Thanksgiving Distribution is Monday.  We have 60 families that we will be providing the makings of a complete Thanksgiving Meal.

So I'm sharing my Weekly Menu, including Thanksgiving.  I wish all of you a very safe, happy and healthy day.

  1. Yes. True. It's hard to think in a thankful way. I learned a great tip at a recent training (obviously online). When you're stuck in that reptilian part of your brain (the fear zone), start thinking about gratitude and it will move you right out into the mammalian part of your brain (the nurturing part). It works! Have a great holiday, Wendy! The menu looks fantastic and I hope you post some recipes (like the honey-thyme feta for sure.)

  2. So many people are suffering terribly this year, and the only way I can find to help is to donate money to our food bank. As you say, with a roof over one's head and no worries about food, we are among the lucky ones with much to be thankful for.
