Pickled Cabbage
Ingredients:
- 1 small head green cabbage, shredded
- 1 lg. sweet onion, thinly sliced
- 3 apples, julienned
- 4 Apple Cider Tea Bags
- 1 c. white vinegar
- 2 T. kosher salt
- Cracked black pepper, to taste
Instructions:
- Place the vinegar and tea bags into a large pot and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and let steep for 5 minutes. Remove the tea bag and return pot to heat.
- Add the salt and pepper to the vinegar mixture, return to a boil and stir until salt is dissolved. Reduce heat and stir in the cabbage, onions and apple. Cook and stir for 5-10 minutes until vegetables are wilted. Remove from heat and allow to cool before serving.
- Can be served at room temperature or chilled. Cabbage will keep in the refrigerator in sealed containers for several weeks.
