Grilled Steaks with Mango and Jalapeno #ImprovCookingChallenge

Juicy, delicious T-Bone steaks, grilled to perfection and topped with a salad of Mango, Jalapeno and Macadamia Nuts.  So good!!

Welcome to the Improv Cooking Challenge.......

Nichole of Cookaholic Wife is our host each and every month.  She chooses two ingredients and sends us off to create the best dish we can using said ingredients.  This month she chose Mangoes and Chiles.

These are such great ingredients with so many possibilities that I thought we would have a huge turnout this month but, alas, there are only 3 of us.  Our leader, Nichole is out with an illness and couldn't join us.  I can only imagine that most of the other bloggers are busy with Farmer's Market Week.

The three recipes being shared look wonderful though so let's go take a look......
by Sara’s Tasty Buds I took a break from Farmer's Market Week to bring you this recipe because I loved it so much but I will be back tomorrow with some Israeli Veggie Skewers so stay tuned for that.

Grilled Steak with Mango and Jalapeno Salad

Juicy, delicious T-Bone steaks, grilled to perfection and topped with a salad of Mango, Jalapeno and Macadamia Nuts. So good!!
prep time: 10 Mcook time: 20 Mtotal time: 30 M

      ingredients:

      • 4 T-bone steaks, or steak of choice
      • Montreal Steak Seasoning
      • 1 mango, peeled, pitted and cut into small dice
      • 1 jalapeno, seeded and minced
      • 1/4 c. Macadamia nuts, chopped
      • juice of one small lime
      • salt to taste

      instructions:

How to cook Grilled Steak with Mango and Jalapeno Salad

      1. Season the steaks and let set at room temperature for 30 minutes.  I like to use Montreal Steak seasoning but you should use your favorite or just salt and pepper, if you like.
      2. Heat the grill to  high heat.  When the grates are sizzling hot and the steaks are room temperature place onto the grill and cook for about 10 minutes.  Flip the steaks and cook to desired temperature,  135* for medium rare.  Remove from grill, cover lightly with foil and let rest for 10 minutes.
      3. Combine the mango, jalapeno, nuts and lime juice.  Season with salt and serve over the steaks.

  1. Before I ended up sitting this one out, I was thinking mango and jalapeno over steak. I'm glad someone else made it. This looks great. And I love the idea of the macadamia nuts for crunch!
