Pre-Workout Caramel Apple Smoothie #BacktoSchoolTreats

I received product samples from sponsor companies to aid in the creation of the #BacktoSchoolTreats week recipes. All opinions are mine alone.

I loved having my teen home this summer.  We got to spend time getting to know each other better as we adjusted to our new normal of being a family.  But I am looking forward to the new school year as is she.  She feel more settled now and ready to concentrate on school rather than being the "new" kid.

I am looking forward to getting back into my routine of hitting the gym three mornings a week.  One of my favorite ways to take care of myself is to get my nutrition in before my exercise with a smoothie.  They are quick, portable and give me enough energy to power through even the toughest workout.

This smoothie contains a whole apple for fiber, Greek yogurt for protein, and Torani syrups for flavoring.  It is like enjoying a caramel apple on your way to the gym.  That is a wonderful way to start your day.

Summer is winding down, and we are celebrating with #BacktoSchoolTreats hosted by Terri from Love and Confections and Christie from A Kitchen Hoor's Adventures. All week-long 30 bloggers will be sharing 100+ fantastic recipes for both parents and kids, with breakfasts, snacks, desserts, and drinks to get you back in the school routine. Thank you sponsors for providing the prize packages. Don't forget to enter the giveaway below!

I flavored this amazing smoothie with Apple and Caramel syrup provided by one of our BTST sponsors, Torani Syrups.

We are long time fans of Torani Syrups so I was thrilled when they decided to sponsor this event and send us two syrups that I had not yet tried.  Our favorite Torani Syrup is Mango which Frank uses in tropical cocktails.  We also like to have Cherry and Strawberry on hand and these are used when the Teen and/or the Angel Face request a "special" drink, Frank's version of a Shirley Temple.

I was excited to try these new to me flavors of Torani syrup and thought that a smoothie was the way to go.  I was soooooooo right. I drank this glass of deliciousness while en route to my personal training day and it sustained me for the entire session.

This smoothie would also be fine and dandy to hand off the kids as they run out the door to catch the bus in the morning.  There is nothing better than knowing your child is starting the day off with a healthy and nutritious breakfast.

A lot has happened since then, but our belief has remained the same: Flavor for All, Opportunity for All.
