Honey Oat Smoothie #ImprovCookingChallenge

A wonderful and delicious way to add more fruits and fiber to your diet is by enjoying a smoothie for breakfast in the morning.

This smoothie combines bananas and strawberries for flavor, oats for filling fiber and a touch of honey for sweetness.  You can feel good knowing that your family has a great, healthy start to their day.

Improv Cooking Challenge is hosted by Nichole of Cookaholic Wife.  Each month she gives us two ingredients and sets us loose to start creating.  The possibilities are endless.  This month's ingredients are Honey and Oatmeal.



My teen had a friend spend the night and in the morning they requested strawberry banana smoothies.  I knew that I had this challenge coming up so I snuck in some oatmeal and sweetened it with honey and VOILA....they were happy and my challenge was complete ahead of schedule.

Honey Oat Smoothie

This smoothie combines bananas and strawberries for flavor, oats for filling fiber and a touch of honey for sweetness. You can feel good knowing that your family has a great, healthy start to their day.

ingredients:


  • 1 banana
    2 c. strawberries, hulled
    1/2 c. vanilla greek yogurt
    1/2 c. orange juice
    1  c. ice
    1/2 c. old fashioned oats
    1 T. honey

instructions:


  1. Place the banana, strawberries, yogurt, juice, ice, oats and honey into a heavy duty blender and puree until smooth.   Divide between two glasses and serve.
