I am officially a Cheer Mom....God help me. Just kidding. I really do love going to school sporting events and cheering the kids on. I was never a cheerleader and while our kids were into many different sports, Marissa is the first cheerleader to live in our house. Rah Rah Marissa.
The thing with the school year and sports, I'm remembering now, is how difficult it can be to meal plan. You have to have food ready in shifts and family dinners are a luxury to be enjoyed when possible.
So tonight we are having an early dinner before Marissa has to run off to prepare for the game. Frank and I will enjoy watching the first half of the game and then during and after half time we are scheduled to work the concession stand. I'm sure after the game, Marissa will be famished so we will need to find her some sustenance. Probably in the form of leftovers.
Tomorrow the cheer team is joining with Ford Company to host a fundraiser. The girls will be washing cars while the parents fill out forms and test drive vehicles. After the fundraiser, Marissa is heading over to a friend's house for a birthday sleepover. While we are busy there, Frank is holding a CPL class. I will have breakfast and lunch prepared for the students to have during class.
Sunday, we are hoping for a visit with Marissa's sister. It remains to be seen if that will happen. Marissa has tumbling class in the evening.
Monday is sibling counseling, we will go out for dinner afterwards. Tuesday our friends, Kim and Kurt, are coming over for dinner. Thursday is the first choir practice of the season so we will have a quick family dinner between cheer practice and choir practice. Friday is the homecoming game.
I am exhausted just thinking about it......I'm looking for quick, easy, hands free dinners for this busy time of year.
