Fruit and Nut Clusters for #handcraftededibles

Well we all knew that eventually we were going to have to get to chocolate in Handcrafted Edibles.  I mean,  what is an event without chocolate?  I am very excited to share this recipe with you today.  It makes a great gift for giving especially if you find a nice candy dish to place them on.  You only need to add some cellophane, ribbon and a bow and you have the perfect gift.

You know what makes this candy perfect?  You got it.  Easy, peasy and delicious.  I am really going to write a cookbook one day and I hope to use this as the title....I wonder if I should copyright "Easy, Peasy and Delicious Recipes" or if it has already been done and I just haven't seen it.  Sorry, sometimes my mind just goes off on it's own.....

This recipe takes only three ingredients and they don't have to be these three.  You need chocolate morsels.  White chocolate, Dark chocolate, Milk Chocolate, Semi Sweet Chocolate...your choice.  I used milk chocolate today.  You need nuts.  Use your favorite kind of nut.  I used mixed nuts but I have also used only almonds, walnuts, pecans and peanuts.  I had this lovely huge jar of mixed nuts so I went for it.  You need dried fruit.  Raisins, cranberries, cherries, dates...whatever you have on hand and whatever you love.  I had Craisins so that is what I used.

Melt the chocolate.  Stir in the fruit and nuts.  Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.  Put it in the refrigerator to set.  That's it. Three ingredients, four steps, 3 dirty dishes.  I told you it was easy peasy.

When the chocolate is set take them from the parchment and place them on a candy dish or serving platter.  Nope, no dirty baking pan, just throw out the parchment paper.

Now for the real test.  Pick one up and take a bite.  Close your eyes and swoon.  Yep....the perfect recipe...Easy...Peasy....Delicious!!

Fruit and Nut Clusters

1 (12 oz) pkg chocolate morsels of your choice
1/2 c. nuts of your choice
1/2 c. dried fruit of your choice

Place the chocolate morsels in a large microwave safe bowl.  Cook for 90 seconds at 50% power. Remove from microwave and stir.  Return to microwave for another 30 seconds and stir again until smooth.  If needed repeat for another 30 seconds.  When chocolate is melted and smooth, stir in the fruit and nuts.  Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.  Place in the refrigerator for 20 minutes or so, to set.  Print Recipe
