I just finished the 8th book in the Outlander Series by Diana Gabaldon. We, who are reading this series, waited a long time for this installation and we were not disappointed. It was well worth the wait as we follow along with Clare and Jamie and their family through all of their trials and triumphs. I will anxiously be awaiting book #9. Those of you who have not read this series....you seriously have got to check it out!! Be forewarned though...each book is over a thousand pages but they are a thousand wonderful, over before you know it pages. The series follows the life story of Clare Beauchamp who suddenly finds herself thrust into another time and place. It is an historical fiction/love story that you will fall into head over heels in the first book and then jump into, feet first, with each proceeding book.
I have now started Top Secret Twenty-One by Janet Evanovich. This is another series that I really enjoy. It is very light and easy reading. It follows the adventures of Stephanie Plum who has become a bounty hunter after being unable to find another job. She finds herself in all sorts of predicaments at work and is more often than not bailed out by her boyfriend, Joe or her friend (sometimes lover, when she and Joe are on the outs) Ranger. They are predictable and trite but they make me laugh out loud and you can't ask for more than that.
