Thursday Thoughts

Today is the day that has been making me sick to my stomach all week.  Mom goes in for her evaluation at the residential memory care center.  Nancy is taking her to have her nails and hair done this morning while I go pick up the paperwork from her family doc.

So as I have gone about all my morning routine, I have been lost in thought. When Nancy arrived I spoke to her about my feelings and she thinks that this is the right choice for Mom.  That opinion means a lot to me since I know she loves Mom and she is willing to give up her job for Mom's sake.

I am going to go for a walk this morning before stopping at the doctor's office and while I did not change my menu for last night I did practice portion control and add a salad to the menu.  Tonight's menu of Pork Chop Suey is fine, I will switch the white rice to brown rice and limit my serving to 1/2 cup.

Today's Photo A Day Challenge(#30summerdays) is to celebrate Throw Back Thursday with a photo from a past summer trip.

This is a photo of Mom and I in August 2005, while on our Alaskan Cruise.

  1. I am thinking of you Wendy. I did a meditation in honor of you yesterday and it was about being a powerful creator. You are creating a healthier lifestyle for yourself. I feel for you and the decisions you have to make. Reducing your stress and finding Aunt Gladys wonderful care are gifts to all involved. Lots of Love, Shelly

    1. Thanks Shel, I am sitting here waiting for Mom to get home from the hairdresser so I can take her. My stomach is in knots. Jackie is going to meet me there and Dick if his schedule allows. I will let you know.

    1. It was a great trip. My Pops was still alive and we had so much fun but it was on this trip that Mom first started showing signs of dementia. She got lost going to the bathroom and couldn't find her way back to us. Oh, and my Pop's won 5K in the casino aboard the ship!!

I know we just talked but I wanted you to know how much I appreciate and love you. This is absolutely the best course of action for Mom and all concerned. Good luck on your new fitness regime. Lanzy
