Try it Tuesday Ham and Lentil Stew

Today is Try it Tuesday, the day that I try a new recipe and see how my family likes it.  If they do it goes into my recipe file.  If they don't I see if I can tweak it some more to make it more palatable for them or I toss it into the round file.

The recipe I have chosen for this week is Ham and Lentil Stew.  It is a crockpot meal so that is right up my alley.  I have a feeling it is probably going to be more of a soup than a stew but Betty Crocker calls it a stew so, for now, so am I.

I pulled this recipe out of one of those softcover booklets you find at the checkout counter.  I don't have the booklet any more just the recipe that has been sitting around for a few years waiting to be tried.  So below is my adaptation of this recipe by Betty Crocker.  I have decided to serve it with corn bread instead of biscuits.

This is what you need.

This is what you get.
It is a keeper and quite tasty.
It is also a very thrifty way to feed a crowd.
