These easy and fun Marshmallow Monster Treats are sure to be a hit with all your little ghosts, ghouls and goblins this year.

Rice Krispie Monster Treats

The Sunday Funday Bloggers are sharing Kawaii recipes today.......
When Sue of Palatable Pastime chose the theme for this week's event, I have to admit that I had to google Kawaii to find out what she was talking about.  I was like "Whatchoo talkin' about, Sue".

Here is what I learned from Wikepedia: "Kawaii is the culture of cuteness in Japan. It can refer to items, humans and non-humans that are charming, vulnerable, shy and childlike."

Then I went onto Pinterest and saw that it can be virtually anything that you want....cookies, cupcakes, candies, rolls, ice cream....you name it.  If it can be made cute and adorable it is considered Kawaii.

In fact, I have made Kawaii recipes without even realizing it when I made these Rat Rolls for Chinese New Year, or this Honey Bear Loaf or even this Cheesecake Brain.

Kids making Monster Treats

I decided to make some Rice Krispie Treats, melt some green chocolate, put out some eyeballs and let the Angel Face and Teens go at it.

Monster Bars

This was the result of their efforts.  It was a fun, quick and easy project for them and we all enjoyed eating these monsters that night while watching The Addams Family.

Let's see what other fun treats are being brought to the party today.............

Rice Krispie Monster Treats

These would be a fun family treat to make when carving pumpkins and getting the house decorated for Halloween.  They could also be made in smaller portions and be sent to school with your kids for their Halloween parade and party.

Do they still do that?  When my kids were young they would all go to school in their costumes and parade down the halls, then they got to watch a Halloween movie and have treats.  The Angel Face is home schooled and I didn't have the Teen during her elementary years so I'm not sure if that is still a common occurance.
