Let the Good Times Roll and the Weekly Menu

Last night we hosted a Mardi Gras get together at the house.  It was a great time starting with Hurricanes and ending with Beignets.

You can't have a Mardi Gras Celebration without Hurricanes.  These sweet fruity drinks with plenty of rum are an iconic New Orleans cocktail.

Step in as I share details of the party, our upcoming week, a Hurricane recipe and the Weekly Menu......

The bathroom remodel was nearly done prior to the party.  They had sent us the wrong shower enclosure and had neglected to send the shelves for the linen closet.  Those should be in later in the week but the room is functional so I was happy.

I love how it turned out!!!  Of course, as soon as the teen saw that the adjacent bedroom now had a full wall instead of an entrance to the bathroom she wanted to change rooms.  The Little Miss was happy because she never wanted to leave her room to begin with so we spent all day Wednesday and Thursday, painting and switching furniture around.

Yesterday I had a hair appointment in the morning and Frank ran to the market for all the groceries I needed for the party.  Have you tried that on line ordering yet with curbside pickup?  I am in LOVE with that service!!

The party was a huge success.  Stay tuned for recipes and photos that will be shared during the next few weeks.

Today Frank is holding a CPL class, thankfully there are leftovers to serve the students for lunch because I'm not feeling very energetic today.  This blog post may be the most effort I put forth today.

Tonight we are meeting up with our friends the Wronas and the Barrets for dinner.  I am looking forward to catching up with good friends that we don't get to see near often enough.

Tomorrow we are going downtown for a Red Wings game.  Marissa invited her brother to go along with us. They are very excited.

Friday Frank has a retirement party to attend. The Teen and I will grab dinner out and do some shopping or catch a movie.

The rest of the week is pretty typical, church meetings, food pantry, voice lessons, choir, etc.  So here is the Weekly Menu followed by the recipe we used for our Hurricanes courtesy of Cuisine at Home.
