Food n Flix invitation

Good morning.  Can you believe that it is already March?  Crazy I tell you.  I have a lot of great things going on in March.  My husband just retired, my brother is retiring, I get to watch my Angel face for a few days while her Mama goes out of town and then we are heading to Islamorada in the Florida Keys.  You know what else is going on in March?  I am hosting this month's Food n Flix and you are all invited.

I have chosen an oldie but (I think) a goodie.  A Walk in the Clouds starring Keanu Reeves, Aitana Sanchez-Gijon, Anthony Quinn, Debra Messing and Giancarlo Gianinni is not a foodie story at all but I don't think you will have any trouble being inspired to create wonderful food after watching.

Keanu Reeves (Paul Sutton) recently released from the military comes home to find that his wife, Debra Messing, whom he married spur of the moment before shipping out is not the woman with whom he had hoped to spend his life.  He takes a job as a chocolate sales representative and is traveling by bus when he meets Aitana Sanchez-Gijon (Victoria Aragon) who has found herself in trouble and is heading home to tell her father, Anthony Quinn (Don Pedro Aragon) who is "going to kill her".  Paul comes up with a plan to rescue Victoria and the rest is a beautiful and touching story of love.  Love of family, love developing between two strangers, long lasting love of parents and grandparents, love between parents and their children.

Please plan on joining us.  All you need do is watch this movie sometime during the month of March and create a recipe that was inspired by the movie.  Once the recipe is made, blog about it and give a short review of the movie, linking back to this post and to Food n Flix.  You may link up to other events along with this one but all links must be to posts completed during the month of March.  Once you have posted email me at wendyklik1517@gmail.com or leave a message on this page with the link to your post.  Include the name of your recipe, your blog name and your blog URL and a photo (or permission to pull one from your post) so I can include you in the roundup.  Deadline for submissions is March 29th so I can post the roundup on March 31st.

That's it...that's all there is to it.  I hope you join us and I hope you enjoy this movie as much as I.  I am anxious to see what food inspiration you find.

  1. I know this is an older movie, but I don't think I've ever seen it! I can't wait to watch it and see what it inspires in the food department. Thanks so much for being our host this month, Wendy!

    1. That is one of the nice things about this group Debbie. You can join in whenever it fits your schedule. We don't all link on one day so no one is depending on us each month. It is strictly for fun. I'm glad you are joining us this month.
