Difference of Night and Day...

Yesterday I reviewed Behind the Beautiful Forevers, a true story filled with sadness and tragedy.  I finished reading it, filled out the review and immediately opened a book written by Terra Kelly, who blogs over at Cafe Terra.

I opened this book around 3 in the afternoon and finished it before bedtime.  What a breath of fresh air after the preceding book.  It is a love story, pure and simple, between two wonderful, kind, loving people who come from wonderful, kind. loving families and have wonderful, kind, loving friends. I shed not one tear.  I never needed to put the book down and walk away because I was disturbed.  I did not rail against the bad guys (or guy, who wasn't even that bad....just a schmuck).  I just lost myself in the fantasy and the happiness that comes to good people every once in a while.

My friend, Sue, would call this an S and F book and I am definitely recommending it to her.  She will love it.  I will leave it to your imagination what the S and F stand for but suffice it to say they rhyme and she uses it to describe romance stories that are filled with sex.

I loved all the characters and I am looking forward to spending more time with them in the future since this is the first book in a series.  Great job Terra!!!!

I am now starting Comfort me with Apples by Ruth Reichl.  It is the selection for our bimonthly club called Cook the Books.  Linking will take you to the about page.  It is a great club.  We all read the same book and then make a meal inspired by the book we were assigned.  It is great fun and this selections post is not due until March 30th so you have plenty of time to read the book and join in the fun!!

  2. I had to laugh out loud at S and F. These aren't usually my taste in books but once in a while it helps to relieve the tension of all the horrible stuff we sometimes read!

  3. I love all of Ruth's book. I have been on the lookout for years for her very first cookbook which I think she self-published in Berkely. I think you will like Comfort Me...
