Caramelized Pear and Brie Rolls #ImprovCookingChallenge

Starting with refrigerated crescent rolls, these little packages filled with caramelized pears and melted brie cheese are a perfect appetizer.  They make a delicious, grab and go breakfast as well.

Our Improv Cooking Challenge today required we combine pears and dairy.......
Thanks to Nichole of Cookaholic Wife for all her hard work each month.

November Improv Cooking Challenge

I'm sure many of you have enjoyed brie cheese wrapped in pastry and topped with fruit.  This recipe gives you all that goodness in little hand held packages.  I love serving up finger foods when having a cocktail party that allow my guests to nosh and mingle at the same time.  These little Pear and Brie bundles are perfect for that.

        • Additionally, these are easy peasy to make as well.  Chop up a pear and put it in a pan with a smidge of cardamom and a little brown sugar and let them cook until fork tender but still retaining their shape.

Pop open a container of refrigerated crescent rolls and place some cheese and the cooled, caramelized pear chunks onto the wide end.

Wrap them up into tidy little packages.  They won't look like crescents because you want to seal all the gooey and juicy goodness inside.

Pop em in the oven and in 15 minutes you have an easy peasy appetizer that will make your guests swoon.  What is your favorite go to appetizer recipe?

Starting with refrigerated crescent rolls, these little packages filled with caramelized pears and melted brie cheese are a perfect appetizer. They make a delicious, grab and go breakfast as well.

          ingredients:

          • 1 small or 1/2 large pear, cored and diced
          • dash of cardamom
          • 1 1/2 T. brown sugar
          • 2 oz. brie cheese
          • 1 container refrigerated crescent rolls

          instructions:

How to cook Caramelized Pear and Brie Rolls

          1. Place the pear, cardamom and brown sugar in a small sauce pan over med heat.  Cook, stirring occasionally until the pears are fork tender but still hold their shape, 4-5 minutes.  Transfer to a small bowl to cool.
          2. Slice the brie cheese into 8 equal pieces, set aside.
          3. Unroll the crescent rolls and separate at seams.  Place a piece of brie and 4-5 pieces of pear onto the wide end of the crescent rolls.  Roll up, tucking the ends and pinching shut with your fingers.  Place onto a baking sheet and bake in a preheated 350* oven for 15-18 minutes, until golden brown.  Let rest for a few minutes before taking a bite.
