Out with the Old, In with the New and the Weekly Menu

The weather is still pretty warm here during the day but the nights are chilly and perfect for bonfires so fall is in the air and now it is in my house as well.

I removed all my summer knick-knacks and decor and brought in the Fall decorations.  I will put out the Halloween decorations in a couple of weeks and work them into the landscape and then replace them with the Thanksgiving decor once Halloween ends.

As the weather starts to turn so does my appetite.  Instead of grilled foods, light pastas, stir fries and salads I start yearning for heavier pastas, stews, soups and meats and vegetables that are roasted or braised.

We have been having heavy rains and storms which result in lots of power outages.  Luckily, we invested in a whole house generator that has not only been a blessing to us but to our neighbors as well.

It is chilly and dreary this morning as well but it is supposed to clear up this afternoon. The Angel Face is spending the night and we are taking her, the Teen and one of the Teen's friends to a corn maze when it does.  No other major plans for the week...mostly working in the yard doing fall clean up, closing the pool, and clearing room in the barn for the outdoor furniture to be put away.

Just like the weather, warm one minute and cool the next, my menu this for the next couple of weeks will be a conglomeration of both warm weather and cold weather cuisine.

  1. Menu sounds delicious. I love to decorate for all the holidays also. I bought my pumpkins and a few mums for outside and decorated the inside of the house..
